I’m bought in, and so is the whole organization—and I can’t believe I’m saying it, because normally every AI tool I see, I think is garbage. Every single person who has played with DarcyIQ, including our CEO, has had the same reaction: this is actually a game changer. We set out to become a data-smart organization that makes decisions on data instead of gut feeling, and that is exactly what we are building.

Executive Summary & Business Challenge
From fragmented data to a data-smart organization
Tactacam, the company behind REVEAL cellular trail cameras, DEFEND security cameras, and the FeatherSnap smart bird feeder, manages more than two million connected devices and earned a place on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list. Business data was fragmented across Amazon Redshift, Adobe Commerce, NetSuite, and marketing platforms. An organic DarcyIQ pilot showed that teams could answer questions against their own data. Leadership expanded it into company-wide access supported by full-time embedded AI engineering. Within ten weeks, six of ten marketing integrations were live and ahead of scope, outputs reconciled against trusted reporting, and more than a dozen staff were trained to self-serve.
The challenge: decision speed and governed access
Based in Billings, Montana, Tactacam serves all 50 states and three countries. E-commerce transactions lived in Redshift and Adobe Commerce, financials in NetSuite, email and SMS performance in Klaviyo, and paid media results across Meta, TikTok, and Google. A small BI team stood between every question and its answer. Marketing assembled monthly recaps manually, channel comparisons required separate reports, and volatile Amazon sales were not reflected in inventory forecasts. Waiting days to reconcile revenue definitions delayed peak-season decisions. Leadership saw new-customer acquisition and camera activations only monthly. Tactacam needed a governed platform that protected sensitive BI data while enabling broader AI access.
DarcyIQ & Embedded Engineering
An organic pilot becomes company-wide adoption
Roughly 15 initial users began answering data questions with DarcyIQ through earlier customer service work, while a recommendation workflow entered active use in the support admin panel. Seeing the platform work against Tactacam’s own data helped CTO Ben Muzzio move beyond AI skepticism. The rollout expanded into an ongoing operating model: company-wide licenses, a ten-week onboarding phase, and a full-time Forward Deployed Engineering team delivering AI capabilities against a backlog prioritized by a Tactacam-appointed Product Owner.
Embedded engineering and controlled self-service
Embedded engineers worked alongside marketing to translate business questions into DarcyIQ agents, integrations, and dashboards. A two-connection governance model separated privileged BI access from a restricted organizational connection using cloned MCP servers and a limited Redshift role. Hands-on sessions and a train-the-trainer approach enabled staff to self-serve safely. A named Product Owner and formal validation framework kept delivery aligned with business priorities and reliable outputs.

I’m a marketing person; I don’t have time to figure out the tech or learn it all upfront. I need the expert to come alongside me, push me forward, and help me learn as I go—because I don’t know what I don’t know.

Governed Data & AWS Architecture
Connected intelligence on AWS
DarcyIQ connects through Model Context Protocol integrations to Amazon Redshift, Klaviyo across four product brands, Google Ads, Google Analytics, TikTok Ads through TikTok’s native MCP, and Meta Ads. Amazon Bedrock provides inference through Tactacam’s own AWS account for cost visibility and control. AWS services in scope are Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, and Amazon EC2.
Business definitions encoded into every answer
DarcyIQ glossaries and knowledge bases capture Tactacam’s own rules: revenue is recognized only when orders ship, and an Adobe Commerce store means a website. Purpose-built agents connect directly to the right integrations and apply consistent definitions. Scheduled agents compile overnight reports, while e-commerce, Amazon, KPI, and email dashboards were co-designed with marketing. Validation against source-of-truth reporting keeps faster answers grounded in trusted information.
Key Business Outcomes
On-demand decisions and channel-level visibility
Leadership moved from monthly, hand-assembled reporting to on-demand answers, with a target of automating 90% of the marketing recap. Six of ten marketing integrations were live within ten weeks and ahead of scope. Revenue attribution across Meta, TikTok, Google, and Klaviyo shows which channels and creatives perform, enabling a connected view of marketing effectiveness.
Validated intelligence and practical workflow gains
DarcyIQ outputs reconcile exactly with Looker source-of-truth reporting. AI-assisted reconciliation surfaced a significant e-commerce KPI variance that legacy combined-channel reporting could not isolate. AI recommendations in active use are shortening the previously 60-day customer service training ramp, while product owners automatically generate Jira tickets from historical data. More than a dozen staff were trained to self-serve answers, supporting Tactacam’s shift from gut-feel decisions to a governed, data-smart operating model.

We set out to become a data-smart organization that makes decisions on data instead of gut feeling, and that is exactly what we are building.
